EKO was proud to represent the SEC's star investor witness in its trial against Terraform Labs and its founder Do Kwon for their roles in the collapse of the stablecoin TerraUSD.
EKO attorneys Julie Erickson and Elizabeth Kramer represented the witness in his trial testimony before District Judge Jed S. Rakoff on March 29, 2024. The trial is expected to go to the jury in the first week of April.
The case has made significant law regarding the status of cryptocurrency, including a December 2023 decision finding that the TerraUSD was a "security" under the Howey test.
EKO represents cryptocurrency investors in several matters, including Pearl v. Coinbase and Donovan v. GMO Trust, both of which involve so-called stablecoins that failed to keep their pegs to underlying fiat currencies.
